we had already tried Viburnum Tinus (aka laurestine) almost exactly a year ago. We went to pick some by the end of November, at the very same place as last year.

but the dyebath is not green

we used the same technique, the same mordant, but we did not use the iron bucket. Did it change something, I don't know. Most probably. Here are the results :

I think the results (and even the phases during the process) look like a lot of the dye with phillyrea angustifolia.

I am SO late blogging about this one ... oh my ...
we had tried phillyrea angustifolia a second time in the middle on October. The first time was back in early October, and that second time, it gave us a slightly different hue of green, but that I love just as much. Loo :

a little reminder about how much unpredictable naturally dyeing is ... we used the same technique, the same plant, picked at the same place, but two weeks later.
