a little rainbow

Just because I needed something to lift my spirits (both my children've been ill), I thought about sharing today a photo I took not long ago.

rainbow of naturally dyed felted wool
a rainbow (or sort of) of naturally dyed felted wool fabric

A rainbow (sort of) of naturally dyed felted wool. This wool used to be a jacket my mom had sewn a long time ago for my father. Instead of letting this jacket being eaten by moth, I've decided, a year & a half ago, to give it a second chance, a second life. I cut it into piece, and started dyeing it with plants.
At random, there is wool dyed with : red cabbage, ivy leaves, avocado skins, onion peels, yarrow flowers & stems, alder cones, Italian buckthorn berries & leaves, sage leaves, wild rosemary leaves, wild strawberry leaves, colewort stems & pods, blue gum bark, and wild fennel stems & flowers.
Just give me time, and these will get a third life. In the meantime, their happy colors fill my heart & eyes with joy !
Be well !
