rhus coriaria scarves shop update
I have dyed with Rhus coriaria (Sicilian sumac) last year, and I really couldn't wait to dye with it again ! In a good chain of events, I could pick prunings on Thursday, and dyed with it yesterday (Saturday). I've already added a bunch of new scarves in the shop.
cotton gauze (4 regular & 1 MAXI) & linen voile (3)
I will try to dye with it once or twice in September, and maybe in October & November, then the season will be over. Besides, it is a very messy dyeing, so I don't do this every other day !! Each piece is one of a kind, holds iron stains/markings that add more character & imperfect charm. (like for everyone of us, in a similar way, don't you think ?)
Thank you for stopping by, ladies !
I am so excited to have stumbled across your blog. I recently gave up toxic unnatural chemicals and have taken to dyeing naturally. So I look forward to your thoughts and sharings on the topic.
ReplyDeleteHi Sonia! We have sumac in California but not Sicilian. In fact, I taught at Sumac Elementary School. The scarves are lovely. I got a scarf for Christmas and googled how to tie them and found dome nice looks. Have a great weekend! (((Hugz)))
